So I have sticked to this application for now and I have never tried the Power Amp application ever so ii have no idea about it.

I personally don’t think that there is much difference between the media application, more or less they look much similar. But I have seen one special feature in Power Amp that Player Pro does not have in it and that is if you get any message or email notification then, the music just pauses allowing you to hear the notification sound without running the music at the background. I think you would not get the perfect answer for your question. It depends apone what is your favorite. I was a user of ADW long, and I still think is first class. But I decided to go with the LP of its new LP plus widgets. I think I will vote for the LP because it has got some enhanced features into it and it is too much amazing to use the same. But I would say that ADW is also incredible to use. So try out both and see which one you like.

You will always prefer those things which constantly keep you up to date so I decided to go with the LP. It is amazing and keeps the dev updated constantly. The landscape mode and the 3D app drawer are just amazing and I don’t have any words for them. I have not tried the ADW but I am in no mood right now to try it because I am just loving the LP and I don’t want to switch it right now.

I think LP has much better dock then the ADW because the LP has the scrolling dock, this helps me to quickly access my most used apps and this helps me on any kind of screen. And on the other side the ADW cannot handle more apps. In LP we can place up to 14 apps at a time. So I would also say that LP is much better than the other. But you try out both as you might ADW also because it is also nice.

Outlook Express, K9 Spam filter and .wmv

I am running XP SP3 with Outlook Express (ver 6) for email and Robin Keir's K9 spam filter. I use AVG 2011 free edition. I use Firefox 4, and IE8 when I must. I am receiving all emails that I want and all attachments are included except .wmv's. The email gets through with AVG's "No virus found in this message." msg, which indicates the email was scanned and passed as OK, but no attachment and no indication why.

The AVG "Remove Attachments" box is unticked and the "Do not allow attachments" box in OE is also unticked. I don't think K9 is the problem as it only classes mail as spam or good, as far as I can see.

It's more annoying than anything but I would not be surprised if others with my standard configuration don't have the same problem.

As far as i know that the attachments in Emails is scanned automatically by the email clients before download or open it. For example Gmail and yahoomail. You might notice in it that when click on any attachment it will first show you as scanning for viruses then it will start downloading. Even if you are using Outlook, the AVG antivirus will not scan it once again because it is already synchronized with your outlook.

Hello for some strange reason I continue to keep getting the blue screen of death and I do not know how to get rid of it. I have tried memory checks and system restores but it continues to come up. Hi friends I am having a situation here. Do you think that there is a way to remove the traces of the files which were deleted? I am trying to remove the names of the deleted files that come up after running a data recovery program. Well I have tried using Z-delete but still the file names appear. So is there any program or any kind of software to wipe out the names of the file or completely remove deleted files?

I would try to defragment the hard drive and then copy a large file (larger than has been like a movie) several times to overwrite the HD for most or all the free space. Then delete the copies of the defrag again and again. It should not be much for a recovery program to find. As far as I know the list of the recovery program for removed files are produced from remains left on the hard disk, so there is no list of fragments.

Hello , I downloaded and installed software (seven remix xp1.0; aeroshake; AeroSnap; Shortcuts Windows 7) to provide a Windows XP tha look Windows 7 (not bad for that matter). But since I can not open certain files with VLC. whenever I Try to do so I get This message appears:

I also had the same issue. But to solve out you have to make sure that the stereo mix is being enabled into your sound card. If this is not done then also you will face these kinds of problem. So to get the things right you should go to the Control panel/sound then go to the recording tab and right click and in device area you should select show disabled devices and there you should set stereo mix as the default.

So try to get the update and you should search it on the internet regarding the same. Internet is the one place where you will find each and every thing. I have worked so far my e-mails using Windows Mail (on Vista). Now I have risen Office 2010 and want to manage my e-mails in the new Outlook 2010. My friend and I have recently built a new system with 4 CPU Quad core. And now it is forming a 16 Quad core. And I am having the operating system of windows 7 and in the in the operating system manager I have seen that the windows 7 detecting all my 16 processor but when I am opening the task manager then I am having only 8 Quad cores present in that. I thought that I should install a PRO Toll and I installed it and I think that this program for the audio and this program is like I can assign as many as core I want to assign to this application. And I was able to choose only 1 to 8. So the computer is working only half. To fix this problem I checked in the bios but I was unable to solve the problem. So please help me.

It might create an undesirable screen flickers on the system of yours. you should simply remove the Vga= option from the kernel command line into the /boot/grub/menu.lst. any other framebuffer drivers would cause the conflict on the KMS. So you have to configure the KMS appropriately so that you can resolve the issue.

I am suspecting that the nouveau drivers might be lacking the hardware acceleration. If you are not supposed to run anything like composite window manger like compiz. If you are not wanted the same then I think you need not to have a 3D acceleration and the drivers which you have installed on the computer would be working fine. Files turn into zero bytes after Syncing with backitup

Hello friends, I was trying to use the backitup sync option that was linking two folders and chosen folder named as mirror. That folder was having all the music files (.mp3 file). After that when I tried to play the music then it shows me the error. When I saw the properties of the files then I got that all the files were turned into zero byte file. Do you have any idea that what may be wrong with that? Please reply, I will appreciate each reply on this.

This seems to be very strange as the BackItUp will never do anything with the files. It will just copy the files. After reading your post, I think that you have synced to an Audio CD accidentally and so it is showing you the zero bytes. Anyway, it will help us to give you the solution if you can provide some more information about this like any log file or some screen shot of that. So post that in your next post.

I think that backitups that you have used to do the backup is corrupted and for that reason you are getting this issue. Anyway, once those files are converted to zero bytes then I don’t think that there is any way to get those files back. Just to avoid these things in future just uninstall that from your computer and then install that again. This is the best way by which you can ignore such things in future.

There might be some virus in your system which is causing this issue. Normally the backitups should not cause such problems. So scan your system with some good antivirus program and see if that can detect virus in your system. You should try to use the toolhlp library in that use CreateToolhelp32Snapshot(...) and then try Process32First(...) and then Process32Next(...). But after searching the internet I got some idea about that, but I would like if someone told me about this, and from the same source I got that there are different third part software as well for doing the same thing, and among them one is smart defrag, so my question is like what is the difference in both of them?

Now you have to do rught click on that file and after that select run as administrator option. I hope after doing that media hub will start working normally.

Video goes out when i try to convert to mkv in nero

I really want to get to talking about Qubes OS, though.

For the benefit of our audience, I want to review the three approaches to system security. We have security by obscurity with things like memory randomization, obfuscating code, and system administrators mandating complex passwords. This acts as a first line of defense—if the bad guys can’t find your house, they can’t break in. It’s a deterrent that encourages the bad guys to look for an easier target. But it doesn’t work when they really want your data.

Then we have security by correctness, where software developers try to write bug-free code so that there are no vulnerabilities. Every time software gets patched, it’s a little bit more correct. But as we see every second Tuesday of the month, even the resources that Microsoft has are insufficient to come up with a perfectly correct OS. Modern software is so big and complex that it’s almost impossible to validate code to be perfect.

Finally, we have security by isolation, which takes a somewhat pessimistic (though more realistic) view that, at some point, the bad guys will break through whatever security measures you have, and so the focus should be stopping the bad guys from getting access to the rest of the system. Most permanent or semipermanent computer data is stored magnetically, meaning a stream of binary computer data bits (0s and 1s) is stored by magnetizing tiny pieces of metal embedded on the surface of a disk or tape in a pattern that represents the data. Later, this magnetic pattern can be read and converted back into the same original stream of bits. This is the principle of magnetic storage and the subject of this chapter.
History of Magnetic Storage

Before magnetic storage, the primary computer storage medium was punch cards (paper cards with holes punched in them to indicate character or binary data), originally invented by Herman Hollerith for use in the 1890 Census.

The history of magnetic storage dates back to June 1949, when a group of IBM engineers and scientists began working on a new storage device. What they were working on was the first magnetic storage device for computers, and it revolutionized the industry. On May 21, 1952, IBM announced the IBM 726 Tape Unit with the IBM 701 Defense Calculator, marking the transition from punched-card calculators to electronic computers.

Four years later, on September 13, 1956, a small team of IBM engineers in San Jose, California, introduced the first computer disk storage system as part of the 305 RAMAC (Random Access Method of Accounting and Control) computer.

The 305 RAMAC drive could store 5 million characters (that’s right, only 5 MB!) of data on 50 disks, each a whopping 24 inches in diameter. Individual bits were stored at a density of only 2 Kb/sq. inch. Unlike tape drives, RAMAC’s recording heads could go directly to any location on a disk surface without reading all the information in between. This random accessibility had a profound effect on computer performance at the time, enabling data to be stored and retrieved significantly faster than if it were on tape.

From these beginnings, in just over 60 years the magnetic storage industry has progressed such that today you can store 3 TB (3000 GB) or more on tiny 3 1/2-inch drives that fit into a single computer drive bay.

HP's PC Business Affect Us Enthusiasts?

Apparently, HP's preferred course of action is spinning its Personal Systems Group off into its own entity. But that's not necessarily what will happen. Would our world as enthusiasts change if HP ended up selling its PC business? Chris and Alan discuss.

Alan: A couple of weeks ago, HP announced that it was going to discontinue making products that run on webOS and was considering selling off or spinning off its PC division. This represents a major paradigm shift in the industry, unlike anything I have ever seen over the last fifteen years. This is completely different from IBM/Lenovo. This is completely different from HP/Agilent.

Chris: Perhaps the most important take-away from this information is the way it came to light: Apotheker's revelation that the company is considering shedding the PC business almost certainly hit its value in a tangible way. If I'm a VAR, why would I deploy HP systems and risk a service/support interruption down the road? And if I previously added value by selling HP PCs and servers, would I continue to sell the servers HP plans to continue manufacturing without the PC business? Strategically, it makes more sense to shift entirely to a competitor able to provide sales and support for the entire infrastructure.

Alan: Like Dell.

Chris: Exactly. And if I'm an enthusiast with money, no longer concerned about the savings attributable to the do-it-yourself mentality, why would I bother with HP's boutique arm when so many other vendors would do battle for my business?

Alan: Like Alienware.

Chris: Right, or any other handful of vendors we've covered on Tom's Hardware that will compete more vigorously, emphasizing their more tailored experience.

And therein lays the motive behind HP's posturing. There's just too little margin up for grabs, despite the fact that the business is profitable. Its mistake, arguably, was sharing that consideration with the world. Now you see public blog posts trying to reassure everyone that it won't, in fact, sell off its business, but would instead prefer to make it some sort of $40 billion dollar start-up. Marketing wasted no time kicking into gear.

Alan: Same thing with webOS. What if it just discontinued the TouchPads for $100 without saying why? That would have been confusion/awesomeness/brilliance all in one. A lot of people say that the HP deal is going to be the next IBM/Lenovo. I really don't think so.

In 2004, IBM began talks of divesting its personal computer business. Although it was the third-largest PC manufacturer, after the dot-com crash, IBM lost nearly $1 billion over the 3.5 years prior to the sale. Based on its profit margins, IBM did not feel that it could sustain the consumer PC industry. What ended up happening was that IBM effectively outsourced its PC business to Lenovo, keeping a 13.4% stake, and Lenovo, recognizing that it lacked the management skills to run a global PC business, kept IBM management and sales teams, effectively outsourcing the management back to IBM after its purchase.

IBM senior VP and general manager of the Personal Systems Group, Stephen Ward, Jr. stayed on-board for the initial transition as CEO. In 2005, William Amelio, former general manager of worldwide operations for IBM's Personal Computing Division and at that time, senior VP of Dell, was brought on-board. He would eventually depart in 2009, leaving Lenovo in the hands of the CEO that ran the company before the IBM merger.

For IBM, the move was exactly what the shareholders wanted. IBM remained profitable, and by December 2010, IBM was the seventh most profitable company in the US, even edging out Apple. Lenovo went from a name that only the most passionate of techies knew about to something a little bit more mainstream. It gained the expertise required to run a global multinational PC corporation and the technical expertise to produce some of the best business laptops on the market. In fact, I'm typing this article on my Lenovo X220.

The formal abbreviation for bits per second is bit/s and not bits/s. In less formal contexts the abbreviations b/s or bps are often used, though this risks confusion with bytes per second which is B/s, Bps.
I would like to explain everything in simple and easy to understand language. Bitrate is important while considering the quality of audio files. Common and widely used MP3 files have 128kbps bitrate. The more the bitrate, the more is the quality of sound. The more the bitrate, the larger is the file size. You can compress the audio files from higher bitrate to lower ones, which will reduce the size of the file. But if you have a low bitrate file, and you increase the bitrate with any software, only the size of the file will increase and not the quality. I hope you got what you needed. All the best!
@Zayd: 'the best bit rate for mp3 files' is a pretty broad question. It depends on what you are trying to do with them. I know this is a couple years after your post, but I hope this helps somebody.

If you are archiving them, then I would recommend against mp3 to begin with. FLAC is a great option for lossless archiving, at a much smaller file size than CD-files and crystal perfect quality.

If you are an audiophile, and want the maximum clarity possible at expense to filesize, go with lowest compression. 320k, 256k and 192k will sound excellent, but will come with large filesize. This becomes a problem if you are listening your files on an mp3 player or flash drive. Also, note that you will not be able to distinguish the difference in quality from these bitrates with most audio setups.

If you are mostly concerned with space, go with lofi, or higher compression rates. 128k, 96k, and 64k are supported by most mp3 players, and take up a small fraction of space compared to "hifi" compression. Unfortunately, with these bitrates you will quickly notice the poor sound quality and compression artifacts. If you are a casual listener, with a factory speaker install, then you probably won't care.

Finally, there comes the question of compression style. CBR, Constant Bit Rate, is the quickest compression method and you can specify exactly the bitrate you want. I would suggest this for hifi compression, where you are not worried about filesize.

VBR, Variable Bit Rate, is a method that allows the mp3 converter to choose the best bit rate for any point in the song. Different files will be more or less complex to compress without losing quality. This allows you to have high quality sound and the smallest filesize allowable. Many mp3 players support this handy option. Though compression takes a little longer, the result is worth it.

Personally, if find that VBR with max bitrate of 160k to be optimum. Actual rates end up being between 128k and 160k. This results in acceptably small filesize and the sound quality is still very good. An excellent compromise for listening to an mp3 player with limited storage. Of course, I keep an archive on my computer of much higher quality.

Recently I have been using skype as my friends suggested that I can make free or cheap call through it to anyone anywhere in the world so I thought that I need to give it a try and thus I downloaded it and installed ti and I was shocked to see that it was not working with other programs that I was using. I mean was the a bug in skype or was it the same way that the skype coded it for, there are many problem that are associated with this and I don’t know where to start from.
There have been many issues relating to the use of skype with other programs but all these issues very caused due to the programs that were running besides the skype as many of them already know that the coding done for skype is extremely poor and there is no way you could run that with other application, As the coding of skype is case sensitive there are many other reasons that can cause a problem.
I had similar problem while I replayed songs on it via VLC player and alongside I used skype , the songs just played in the vice but , I could not hear anything from the speakers that were attached to it this error could be with my audio drivers but , when I turned off them and then restarted them after closing skype , I had no problem so that s the problem with skype’s coding. AND mind you there is no solution for this .
Yes there are many problem including the browser like chrome , Firefox and internet explorer, ,the skype also cause a problem with other application like I tunes and quick time player , but mind you these problem occur only when you have a skype window opened alongside the application that you are running . I suggest you to first close all these application and then run the skype one ,
I a downgrade would never be a wrong suggestion in your case as the some of them never get a problem while some do get a problem .so I suggest you to downgrade the latest version that you are using to a an older version which might just help you to get your problem solved . to downgrade your skype you first need to go un-install the current version and then install previous version and I guess that would work perfectly fine with you.
You cannot avoid this problem as the developer of t\skype have already claimed this problem and they say that this cannot be undone and this is a drawback that is faced by the skype , If you cannot restart and application after it had issues skype then I suggest you to delete that from the task manager from the task manager. This would help you to stop the application from running entirely. And then give it a force restart.
Seems that there is a lot of problem with the Skype running with other programs and I though that I was the only one who is having the problem as there are many other who are having a similar problem I don ‘t understand why this problem seems to appear on me as I previously never had such problem with yahoo messenger . I guess I now would have to shift back to yahoo messenger as it work’s in harmony with other programs.

skype doesnt run with vista 32 bit windows

Hi I have a dell inspiron 530 in which by default I have get windows vista 32 bit, and I am using the skype for making calls through it. But I have tried so much but the software doesn’t work on the window that I am using. I have tried almost all the things, but In fact I was using the windows XP I was able to use the this software, but no luck with vista. What shall I do next in order to get it work? Yeah there is some problem in this software as it doesn’t run with windows vista, in fact when I was using the same I was also having the similar problem. But which version are you using? I am not sure that which version will run perfectly because as I wasn’t installed I changed my operating system to windows 7 and since I am running this software on my machine, but still I would suggest you that don’t directly change the windows rather you can try all the version of the same software I hope this may work.
Hey let me tell you skype works with Vista, I would say you should check all the configurations after installation, and I am sure that the software must have been installed on your machine but not running actually and this because of the settings and some proper drivers, and I would say the same, you should try to install the sound driver first, and if suppose you have the one, then I think you haven’t configured it properly, thus make sure that you have proper one.
Exactly the same opinion as the above use as if you have the sound driver from realtek, and if you are using the 5.3 version you must have to update those driver first, and then try to run that software. And if you have updated the skype software then together with that you must have to update your firewall also. I mean to say if you are using any external firewall you should have to configure it also, as make some changes in that like always allow the connection through the skype.
Hey I would say you should update the software that you have, because it might have been possible that the software you are using must be corrupted or some of the files would be missing from the program files, thus my recommendation is still the same as you should install the new software in order to run it, or rather you can have another option also, as if before installing the new one you can try to update the current one, I hope this may work.
Hey from where you had downloaded this software, as I know on internet there are too many websites that gives this software, but I would say you should download it from its official websites only, it might be possible that you have to pay for that, I am not sure you may get it free also, but download it from the other location, exact distinct from the previous one, and off course while installing, choose a custom install, and specify the different location than the previous one, but let me tell you before doing all these delete all the files of the previous software, so they won’t affect the new one.

You seems to have some serious issue. You have made some critical errors on the computer with it. First uninstall and delete the program of folder lock which you have installed earlier. Make sure that you remove it entirely from your computer. Then after deleting re-start your computer. I think this should put back everything back to normal. flash player buffering continues every few seconds after it starts

Can anyone help me out .I have problem regarding my flash player. When I start my flash player it continues to buffer every few seconds. It plays then buffers then again it plays and buffers. It keeps on repeating. Few months ago, it was working fine. I don’t know what changes causing this problem. I am having windows vista operating system. I already checked the add-ons and the flash player is enabled. Also tried turning off the popup blocker and downloaded the latest version but no change.
I think you have problem because of your Browser. As you have mentioned in your question that it was working fine before so this problem might be the possibility. Try to disable all the add-ons and toolbars (except Shockwave Flash Object, the Java versions 1.6.0_20) which you have installed. Now try this flash player of yours, I am sure it will work. Also try different browsers such as Mozilla, opera, chrome etc whichever is available with you. If required uninstall the add-ons and toolbars. Stop the Antivirus which you have installed in your computer, this can also be the reason.
Another reason because of which you have been facing this problem is that you might have installed more than one version. In programs and features if you can see JRE 6 update there than its confirmed that you have more than one version. Go to control panel and then to program and features unless you have add/Remove the other versions and without fail keep automatic update off. I have updated my Flash active player to the latest. Since then my flash plugin gives a black screen with one line of colored pixels on the Top. This happens when switching to fullscreen mode in both 32bits and 64bits versions of IE9. I tried reinstalling it. It seems to work in normal mode, the plugin version for other browsers Fails in both normal fullscreen mode. Any idea how to fix it? I have widows 7 operating system x64 on an Intel Quadcore Q6600 2.4Ghz CPU and a Gforce 8400 GS GPU.

It seems you have graphic related problem which is making you i.e your flash player unable to work in fullscreen mode. There is no issue with the configuration which you have mentioned in the question because everything seems to be compatible. To solve this update your graphic driver i.e.GForce. To update follow the steps- Open Device Manager by clicking the start button, click on Control Panel, after that click on System and Maintenance and then click Device Manager. In the Device manager select the graphic driver name that you want to update and then double click the device name. Click the Driver tab and then click update driver. The driver will be updated and the problem will be solved.

Alternate method to solve this is by Disabling Hardware Acceleration in Internet Explorer9. The main motive of these updates is just the ability to use hardware acceleration. To do this Click on Start, Control Panel, Network and security and then click on Internet Options in that click the Advanced tab, and then browse to the Accelerated graphics section. After that select the Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering check box .click Apply following with OK. Close all open windows of Internet Explorer 9 and restart Internet Explorer 9. View the webpage in Internet Explorer 9. After this re-enabling of hardware acceleration is important. I have installed this licensed Tally ERP.9 multiuser in all the four location, which are about 300 km away from each other say namely location A, location B, location C, Location D. Now i am using location A as server and location B,C,D are used as remote location. All my remote location has user level access restriction. My question is can I use VSAT VPN connection for all the four location to have access to Tally. Which means my three location will connect to location A through VPN not through internet(as if they connect in case of LAN) And my server location only will have internet connection.

Can flash player 10 run on Solaris 10?

I am using Solaris 10 Operating System. I am using Firefox 3.6.13 on sun blade 150. The shockwave Flash 9.0 r 151 plugin appears to work properly. But the flash player 10.2.153 is not working in it. I am getting an error message saying that ‘shared library libssl3.so: no such files or directory’. I know that libssl3.so is present in the Firefox directory. Always my websites are asking me to upgrade Flash player 9 to Flash player 10. So, is there a version of Flash player 10 for my Solaris 10?

You go onto the link and see the available version of the flash player that is available for your Solaris Operating System. It seems that you will be required Mozilla Firefox 3.0 and above version of it.

I am having Solaris 10 with 86 bits. in my Flash plugin version I was also facing the same problem of libssl3.so. It was last working with the Solaris 86 bits with flash player 10. The problem was, whenever I start my Firefox browser, the libraries that were there for Flash Player are searched in the Firefox/depend/lib. I just made a simple change in the link of the library. I changed it from Firefox/depend/lib to Firefox/libssl3.so. After making the changes I dint found any error message further.
I have heard that libss3.so version should be higher to have the Flash Player. National Security Service version should have minimum of 3.11.4 version. But, for Solaris 06, 10 or 11, I don’t hope so that they have it. The problem might be fixed by NSS library update. So you can try this one step method and see whether it is working fine or still you are facing some kind of error messages. If you get so, then please inform what error message you are getting.

I've not had a long time with Windows 7 beta 1 (given the holidays) but I've played with it long enough to form a few opinions:

There are no new features in this build. If Microsoft has any new stuff lined up for the RTM then we're going to have to wait to find out. Features-wise, build 6.1.7000.0.081212-1400 is similar to earlier builds I've looked at .
This beta is of excellent quality. This is the kind of code that you could roll out and live with. Even the pre-betas were solid, but finally this beta feels like it's "done." This beta exceeds the quality of any other Microsoft OS beta that I've handled.
Performance of this beta is exceptional. I've not had a chance to benchmark it yet but it feels snappier and more responsive than earlier betas I've handled.
Judging by the quality of this build, I expect Windows 7 to be released June/July of '09. I really can't see Microsoft dragging out the release a year.

Acer India one of the world's top three branded PC vendors announced a new retail policy for their branded stores (Acer Malls & Acer Points) across the country. In a proactive move designed to protect the interests of its retail chain network in a reccesionary economy, Acer announced across the board reduction in its targets deployed to the retail community in Q1 09 while at the same time keeping all payout including fixed ones at the same level.

The Acer retail policy for 2009 for its 300+ Acer Malls and Points include revision of targets by upto 30% and maintenance of all remuneration to the brand store network at the same levels. The new revised targets will be effective for all Acer retail partners for the period Q1 09. Acer expects these proactive measures to infuse the retail channel with high levels of positive energy and motivation, critical for their success as they head into 2009.

Rajendran, Chief Marketing officer, Acer India said, "The retail industry is flourishing in India and we strongly believe in the ability of the IT retail channel and its viability as a long term vehicle of growth for the company. Acer has witnessed a retail channel turnover (Brand retail stores) of over Rs. 350 crores in 2008 and the introduction of this Retail Policy will help our retail partners in a large way given the current recessionary environment. T Mobile G2 Android phone leaks out

No sooner have HTC's plans for an Android phone leaked out, are the Taiwanese mobile giants are slap bang in the middle of another piece of Google mobile–based tittle tattle.
The new smartphone has been developed using a combination of the Google Android operating system and Linux-based software written by HTC itself.
The new phone appears to rock a full touchscreen, without the QWERTY keyboard found on the G1, with rounder curves and a sharper design to take on the might of the iPhone and the spanking new Palm Pre.
Your going to have the basic T-Mobile services such as Web2Go and MyFaves. Word on the street is the T-Mobile G2 will be hitting T-mobile retail locations the end of January 2009. The T-Mobile G2 will also be the first T-Mobile phone with video calling.

Sony unveiled prototypes of flexible OLED displays

A Unlike LCD, OLED technology requires no backlight, and thus to develop screens of extreme delicacy, therefore, resist better to twisting. The OLED can also enjoy an excellent brightness, contrast and unmatched to this day (about 1,000,000 for the latest Sony televisions, according to the manufacturer).

Promising, the OLED is also extremely expensive, at least for the moment, and the first flexible screens should not benefit the general public but rather to occupational or military applications. The OLED Association explains that the U.S. military could be one of the first to benefit. It equip its soldiers and OLED screens, part of their equipment, which would replace the paper map or GPS device.

It remains to know when the technology is mature enough for that production costs are no longer an obstacle to its development.
